Additional Information: | Original vintage poster: Musical Dance Flamenco Spanish Caseres & Arseni Theatrical/Musical Theatrical 1940s. Ballet Teatro. 1941. Artists: AMADEU ASENSI AND RAFAEL CASERES The artists who made this poster were also mid-century stage designers, and their innovative approach to space and form can be seen in this illustration for the Ballet Teatro in Spain: "... A conscious reaction against naturalist sets. In some cases, the harmonizing of color was of foremost importance... In others, a potentially realistic subject matter was made unreal through exaggerated, unusual perspectives in which geometrical shapes assumed a dominating significance" (Reception and Renewal in Modern Spanish Theatre, 1939-1963, p. 39). Indeed, the surprising combination of pink and green, the divided environment, and the perspectival shift are hallmarks of a new vision for Spanish theatre. Restored fold marks A- condition. This is an Original Lithograph Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is professionally acid-free conservation mounted, linen-backed, and in excellent condition. |
