There is no date and no artist, no printer's mark which would have been normal for military posters. The poster is attributed to James Montgomery Flagg by Pennsylvania State University. Special Collections Library. The U. S. Marines has a blue hat until the 1940's when it changed to white. This is a pre-WWII poster. The USA colors behind this Marine recruiter has an orange-red, white, and medium royal blue color pattern. The recruiter's uniform is in a dark blue color. This veteran Marine drill instructor beckons recruits with the crook of his finger. Impressive and very bold recruiting poster, quite scarce. Similar image to the famed Uncle Sam, but this time shows the Marine Recruiting Sargent.
