The point being made is that these people came from other diverse countries and fought in World War 1. The image is a vintage poster from 1919 encouraging Americans to purchase Victory Liberty Bonds. The poster depicts a woman, representing Liberty, holding a large American flag while placing a laurel wreath on a pillar with the names of American soldiers inscribed on it.
