| Additional Information: | Original Sabena vintage travel poster. Archivally linen -backed in very fine condition, A, ready to frame. The image comprises 3 surfboard style sections that depicts New York to Brussels and on to the Heart of Paris via Sabena, Belgian World Airlines. The foreground: airplane (DC-7c) . (This is in the Smithsonian Museum collection.) The Belgian flag-carrier Sabena is the airline's experiment with helicopter services. The handsome poster above is surely from the late 1950s, showing the DC-7 which arrived in 1957 to serve the airline's long-haul routes but was supplanted only three years later in 1960 by the Boeing B707 Sabena, short for Société Anonyme Belge d'Exploitation de la Navigation Aérienne, was Belgium's national airline from 1923 until its bankruptcy in 2001. During its operational years, Sabena produced numerous vintage travel posters to promote tourism and its flight routes. One notable poster is titled "Fun Brussels, Helicopter to Paris."
