Note this has the English spelling of Greece on the poster. a gorgeous Air France Greece travel poster by Georges Mathieu. Though without the Air France tagline, this was a significant advertising piece for their transatlantic air service to Athens. Stylized Greek columns and the Parthenon in Athens, Greece sit on a Mediterranean blue background in this stylish modernist image. In 1968, the French painter and designer Georges Matthieu, the master of the informalism movement, did 16 different posters for Air France. This one is for Greece.
