Additional Information: | Original poster: Chopstix Sequences. Printed on woven paper. Horizontal print of a hand holding a chop stix or both in various positions. Behiind each are the Japanese symbols for 1, 2, 3, and 4. On the 4th the one chopstix is dropped to the bottom of the horizontal print. In 1986 the American Simpson Paper Company asked 24 graphic designers from around the world to design posters, each interpreting the theme “Sequences”. Optically seductive, the choice of red, yellow and black, makes for a striking poster, however for Henry the conceptual takes precedence. Henry’s spin on this classic ‘sequence’ is through his addition of an amusing, yet factual, fourth step – a dropped chopstick. The sequence is also a repeating one as step 4 implies a return to step 1. (Steiner.co_hk) Artist signed - Signature bottom right.
