Horizontal format. Edition size is unknown. Created to promote the 40th anniversary of the New York City Ballet as one of eleven different pieces. It was published in 1988 by the Philip Morris Companies Inc., United States. Bridging the gap between the art world and the street, Keith Haring rose to prominence in the early 1980s with his graffiti drawings made in the subways and on the sidewalks of New York City. Combining the appeal of cartoons with the raw energy Haring is regarded as a leading figure in New York East Village Art scene in the 1970s and '80s. 'The New York City Ballet did six different performances between April and June within the scope of the American Music Festival. This poster is part of a series of eight artists' posters, designed by among others, Roy Lichtenstein, Bruce Nauman, Helen Frankenthaler and Francesco Clemente.
