Tom Whalen
Tom Whalen (born April 7, 1974) is an American illustrator and designer from McAdoo, Pennsylvania, that describes his distinctive style as "modern vintage" that has designed comic books, posters including alternative movie posters, and more. His work in designing alternative movie posters began at the Colonial Theatre, where they filmed The Blob back in the 50s, designing for their First Friday Fright Night series. Whalen eventually began working with Mondo and the Alamo Drafthouse, Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles, Dark Hall Mansion, Marvel and DC Comics, Disney, The Beatles and others. Whalen’s work is extremely sought after and highly collectible.
